Abstract/Contents:"In the spring of 1983, various experiments were carried out to study the question whether and how different clipping regimes would influence the shoot development and root growth in young grass plants. Agrostis and Festuca were examined in pot experiments. The experiments indicated that Agrostis stolonifera is particularly suited for low clipping whereas Agrostis tenuis and Festuca spp. showed better results when first clipped at a higher level to be followed by a lowering of the clipping level later on."
