| Abstract/Contents: | Emphasizes the importance of determining which type of Poa annua is present on a golf course, and lists differences between Poa annua var. annua and Poa annua var. reptans. Lists standard requirements for good turf, which must be met by Poa annua if it is to be used by a greenkeeper. Weaker Poa annua grasses, when stressed, will become extremely susceptible to fungal diseases. "By alternating between Poa annua and Agrostis, one should encounter easier mowing. In this case, the mowing height should be about 12-13mm, the clippings should be absorbed, and a low nitrogen level should be maintained. The irrigation intensity should also be less."
