Abstract/Contents:"Studies were conducted to investigate influence of PGRs and herbicide on clover control and photosynthesis of creeping bentgrass (Agrostis palustris L.). Factorial experiments of PGRs (humic acid plus seaweed extract (HASE), Propiconazole (PPC), Trinexapac-ethyl (TE), Amino acids, and Quelant CA) and herbicides (2,4-D, Dicamba, MCPP, and Confront) were used. A significant PGR and herbicide interaction was observed with both clover and creeping bentgrass. Tank mixed HASE with low rate of Dicamba reduced the chlorophyll content and enhanced clover injury. A higher photosynthetic capacity (PC) wa obtained when the bentgrass was treated with HASE, Quelant Ca, Amino acids of PPC combined with Dicamba. Tank mixed Quelant Ca of PPC with low rate of Trimec or HASE combined with low rate of 2,4-D enhanced PC of this grass. Selected PGRs may reduce required herbicide dosage for weed control and enhance photosynthetic activity of the turfgrass treated with herbicides."
