| Abstract/Contents: | Brief presentation of results from 1975-76 Perennial ryegrass variety studies. Twelve varieties were separately seeded on September 25th. In 1976, 6 pounds per 1000 square feet to 150 square feet plots. Varieties were replicated four times. (C#1) Ratings C#2 tables. Derby, Diplomat and Manhattan had the highest quality ratings, but Derby was susceptible to rust. Also presents results from the Kentucky bluegrass variety studies. Prevention of Fusarium roseum on the varieties with and without herbicide is presented in a table with significant differences indicated. The study concludes that bluegrass varieties differ in susceptibility to F. roseum, and herbicide treatment in the summer. Sydsport, Enprima, Fylking, Glade, Pennstar and Nuggett susceptibility increased more in the summer months. |
