Abstract/Contents:Results of parental, back and sib cross studies with Phleum pratense showed stem rust (Puccinia graminis f. sp. phlei-pratensis) resistance to be dominant, being inherited hexasomically in a manner of random chromosome segregation. Uredia formation was inhibited equally well in simplex and duplex plants. Weaker dosage effects of the resistance gene compared with that observed in orchard-grass (cocksfoot) were referred to higher ploidy level of the host plant.
