| Abstract/Contents: | "'Diamond' zoysiagrass (Zoysia matrella), was vegetatively sodded 27 January 1998, on a resistance wooden heatbench filled with greens-grade sand. The experiment was a two-factorial plot design with 6 replications. The main plot effects consisted of 2 levels of shade. A Birdair shade fabric supplied shade over half the block, while the Birdair shade fabric under-lined by a fire-proof safety liner supplied the other shaded half. The subplot effect was treated with "Primo" (trinexapac-ethyl) applied at two separate rates: 0.25 oz/ 1000ft², 0.40 oz/ 1000ft², and a non-treated control. Differences in color were not seen until 9 Mar., in which both Primo treatments ranked the highest. Differences in density were seen beginning 2 Mar., with the lower rate of Primo ranking the highest. Differences in turf quality were also seen beginning 2 Mar., with the higher rate of Primo ranking the highest." |
