| Abstract/Contents: | Mefluidide (granular and liquid formulations) and MH were applied to tall fescue to evaluate growth retardation and injury. All treated turf was shorter than untreated with the high rate of the granular and liquid mefluidide causing more retardation than MH. All treatments caused color losses, with the liquid formulation of mefluidide causing the most discoloration. The granular formulaiton of mefluidide caused less discoloration than the liquid, even when applied at a high rate. Fresh weight yields taken approximately four weeks after treatment revealed that the high rate of the granular and liquid mefluidide caused the most retardation. Density (based on tiller counts) measured nine months after treatment was not appreciably affected by application of mefluidide, however MH caused approximately a 20 percent reduction in tiller number. |
