Abstract/Contents:Presents a study "to evaluate nine N [nitrogen] sources and composts for their effects on dollar spot severity and turf quality. Other study objectives were as follows: 1) to elucidate the relationship among the N-sources and foliar tissue N, soil microbial activity, and the severity of dollar spot, and 2) to evaluate the N-sources and composts for their impact on thatch production, soil organic matter accumulation, and plant parasitic nematode population densities." Reports that "there were few significant differences in dollar spot levels among most treatments in either year," and "data showed that the treatments had no significant impact on dollar spot after disease pressure had become severe." Also, "general soil microbial activity data, which were collected in 1999 only, indicated that there was no correlation between soil microbial activity and dollar spot severity."
