Abstract/Contents:Summarizes research pertaining to the relationship between mowing height and black turfgrass ataenius populations. States that according to research, "ataenius grubs are found more often in shorter mowed turf," and predators of ataenius are more prevalent at higher mowing heights. Mentions research into "a thief ant that is known to consume Japanese beetle eggs." Future research includes "investigating why fewer predators and less milky spore disease are found in the shorter-mowed turf." Provides a figure indicating mowing regims along the rough/fairway interface on a perennial ryegrass golf course.
