Abstract/Contents:"Development of a database continues on turfgrass rhizobacteria from newly constructed bentgrass and bermudagrass putting greens. Bacterial isolates from roots of bentgrass or bermudagrass were identified by GC/FAME analyses. Acidovorax, Burkholderia, and Pseudomonas were the major genera in December 1996; whereas, Arthrobacter, Bacillus , Flavobacterium, and Pseudomonas were the major genera in December 1999 from bentgrass. Bacillus is a recent addition to the dominant genera in bentgrass. Bacillus and Pseudomonas were the major genera in bermudagrass in both years. In general, seasonal shifts of rhizobacteria were observed from both bentgrass and bermudagrass rhizospheres. However, Bacillus and Pseudomonas were present as dominant genera over three years in bermudagrass rhizosphere, and Pseudomonas was always a dominant genus in bentgrass rhizosphere."
