| Abstract/Contents: | "Rooted Zoysia matrella cuttings were grown in pots containing a sand and flower residue mixture of pH 5.2, active potassium 142.5 ppm. The effects of potassium (0, 0.25, 0.5, 1 or 2g K/plant, as KCl) on plant growth and nutritional component were studied. Plant growth was promoted significantly at high K level (2g K/plant), plant height, tiller counts, shoot fresh weight (FW) and root fresh weight (FW) were increased by 20%, 90%, 160% and 150% as against control (0g K/plant), respectively. In all applied potassium treatments, potassium and manganese contents in shoots and total sugar content in the whole plant were increased, but nitrogen, calcium and protein content in the shoots were reduced." |
