Abstract/Contents:"BAS 500 F is a new strobilurin fungicide with excellent efficacy against most turfgrass pathogens. Turf managers will have a valuable tool for the control of key diseases of turf, including brown patch (Rhizoctonia solani), Pythium blight (Pythium aphanidermatum), gray leafspot (Pyricularia grisea), snow mold (Microdochium nivale, Typhula spp.), red thread (Laetisaria fuciformis), summer patch (Magnaporthe poae) and others. Projected use patterns for BAS 500 F include rates ranging from 280 - 560 g ai/ha and application intervals ranging from 14 - 28 days depending on target disease. Extended spray intervals (21 - 28 days) will be possible for many pathogens, including brown patch, gray leafspot, red thread and summer patch. BAS 500 F provides an alternative chemistry for the control of turfgrass pathogens such as Pythium for which resistance is an issue. BAS 500 F has been evaluated at many universities and has proven safety on all common species of turfgrass. BAS 500 F will be marketed in turf under the trade name of InsigniaTM."
