Abstract/Contents:Presents a study to "quantify the potential runoff of lawn care pesticides commonly used by both professionals and homeowners on pervious and impervious surfaces." Results include that "impervious concrete surfaces yield a substantial among of water runoff versus the pervious surface of turf" and that "no water runoff was found from the pervious turf plots. On sporadic occasions, a few of the turf plots would have runoff, but this could be due to overflow from the concrete plots." Concludes that "runoff water from pervious (turf) plots is nominal, thus turf may not be a source of pesticide runoff, and subsequent contamination issues."
