Abstract/Contents:Presents a study to evaluate the influence of clipping and management strategies on Kentucky bluegrass. Results include that "Kentucky bluegrass color response to different nitrogen carriers is quite sensitive to moisture deficits. The natural organic fertilizers are more adversely affected than are synthetic fertilizers. Clipping management can offset the declines in turfgrass color response resulting from moisture stress. Mulch-mowing appeared capable of improving turfgrass color by I.0 unit or more during periods of rainfall deficits. This effect of mulch-mowing is most pronounced when natural organic fertilizers are applied."
