Abstract/Contents:Plants of four cultivars were vernalized for varying periods in the open. Only one plant, in the cultivar Neuga, formed an inflorescence without exposure to low temperature. The period required by the others ranged from 3 to 16 weeks. The number of plants requiring short periods was greatest in Dufa and lowest in Neuga and Welta, while Bottnia was intermediate.
