Abstract/Contents: | Describes how to repair areas of dead grass with turfgrass sod. Provides seven steps for immediate lawn repairs: cut around the dead area with a sharp knife; shovel up about one inch of soil and grass; rake the bottom and raise the level to within an inch of the existing grass; measure and cut purchased turfgrass sod and lay it; push the sod down by walking on a placed board; apply water until run off and repeat after an hour; and apply water daily. States that "most grasses will spread as they grow, thus filling in the area between the new and old grass." |
