Abstract/Contents:Discusses a two-day visit by GCSAA representatives to Washington, D.C. Describes a meeting between the GCSAA representatives and the EPA Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances to discuss the implementation of the Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA). Also describes meetings between the representatives and three Congress members from Kansas, Sen. Pat Robers, Sen. Sam Brownback, and Rep. Dennis Moore. Explains that the meetings were held to discuss the FQPA and ask the Congress members to vote against provision in the Clinton Administration's budget that would tax the investment, rental, and royalty income of 501(c)(6) associations such as GCSAA. States that "building and maintaining relationships with lawmakers in an important component in GCSAA's advocacy program. The government relations program will continue to identify opportunities to meet and work with regulators and members of Congress."
