Describes the efforts of different organizations in "working to better understand environmental issues associated with turfgrass and golf courses," focusing on the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program. Lists ways that golf course superintendents can make their courses more environmentally friendly including water conservation, habitat improvement, and reduction of pesticide use. Also lists positive effects of managed turfgrass areas, that can be stressed to educate the community on the positive aspects of golf courses. |
