| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses golf course construction and renovation, and recommends that superintendents avoid member involvement in any role in order to avoid conflict of interest. Explains that "if members are providing products of some kind, and if for any reason the quality should come into question, [one] could find [themselves] making a member or the member's product look bad." Recommends a policy that states that "no one who joins the club is allowed to sell products or provide services to the club." Suggests that "a qualified golf course architect will help ensure the integrity of [the] course and that the work is specified with proper quality safegaurds in place during the construction." |
