| Abstract/Contents: | "Fenoxaprop-ethyl is a new postemergence grass herbicide from Hoechst-Roussel Agri-Vet Company for control of crabgrass, goosegrass and other annual grasses in cool season turf including Kentucky bluegrass, fescue species, and perennial ryegrass. Trials with fenoxaprop-ethyl using rates of 0.12, 0.18, and 0.25 pounds active ingredient per acre were tested in 22 states. Results indicated that control of annual grasses was best when grass weeds had 1-4 tillers present. The volume of water applied, the type of nozzle used and the height of the turf at application were also important for control. Combinations of fenoxaprop-ethyl with other pesticides were not tested." |
