| Abstract/Contents: | States that "an experiment was initiated in 1985 and continued in 1986 to determine the effect of PGRs [plant growth regulators] on seedhead suppression of centipedegrass." States that "three separate experiments on PGRs on centipedegrass will be conducted during 1986." Shows that in experiment I, 20 different PGR regimens were studied, including an untreated control. Shows that in in experiment II, 4 PGR regimens were studied, in conjunction with 4 mowing frequencies. Shows that in experiment III, 4 PGR regimens were studied in conjunction with 4 different nitrogen regimens. Results for experiments II and III are not reported. Results for experiments I include: "in 1985, centipedegrass was severely injured with MH at 4.0 lb/A [,while] the injury from other PGRs was slight to moderate with no permanent stand loss" and " with no permanent stand loss" and "seedhead suppression was good to excellent for 12 weeks with Embark 0.5lb/A, and AC 1900 0.26 lb/A and not acceptable with the other PGRs at the rates evaluated." |
