| Abstract/Contents: | Points out that in late 1998/early 1999 seven salmonid species were determined endangered. Overviews several organizations and their guidelines to keep recreational practices on golf courses from effecting the stream habitat of these salmon. Describes an experiment "to evaluate the influence of golf course management practices on surface water quality by use of a revised OGCSA Guidelines protocol" and "to determine if the current protocol in the OGCSA Guidelines has sufficient rigor to accurately assess the influence of management practices on water quality." Results include that "pesticides were not detected in samples from either site in June, or from Site I in July. In July at Site II, triclopyr was detected, but in similar concentrations at both the entry and exit points, indicating that the input into the stream was not from the golf course, but from some upstream source." |
