| Abstract/Contents: | Disucsses Ron Dodson's involvement with Audubon International's Cooperative Sanctuary System. Describes how the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System, ACSP, targeted golf courses at the beginning of the program because of the amount of land they occupied throughout the United States. Discusses the low percent of total golf courses that have joined the ACSP. Discusses the future goals of the ACSP, including the influence of golfer environmental awareness. Also discusses the ACSP 'Fifty in Five' initiative, where they are in implementation and how they plan to reach their goal. Describes how the ACSP program helps superintendents "prioritize projects, fully integrate environmental management into what they do, and communicate with golfers and the public." Also describes how certification saves mony on course maintenance "by reducing time-consuming maintenance practices." |
