Abstract/Contents:The Mediterranean is essentially a climatic phenomenon and must be analyzed in physical terms, thus the terms Mediterranean climates (or zones) are more appropriately used. Another principle stipulates that the Mediterranean is a major phenomenon situated on a planetary level. Also, the Mediterranean bioclimate is an average phenomenon which could locally, result in many meteorological phenomenons. Finally, there is not a specific climate of altitude but an altitudinal specification of general climates. The remainder of the article discusses specifics that make each Mediterranean climate and problems that vegetation managers, particularly in a lawn center, are faced with.
