| Abstract/Contents: | SUMMARY: "Playing surface hardness and tennis ball rebound resilience were measured for several tennis courts. From these data, tennis ball rebound resilience on natural turf can be predicted up to a Clegg Impact hardness (Clegg 1976) of 200 gravities using the equation; rebound resilience (%)=20.71 + 0.17 Clegg Impact (gravities). With increasing hardness and beyond a Clegg Impact value of 200 gravities, rebound resilience converged towards an asymptotic limit of 58%. The Clegg Impact Soil Tester is recommended as a rapid method for predicting Tennis ball rebound resilience for natural turf." |
