| Abstract/Contents: | 1987 update of two national studies of named and experimental varieties of Perennial ryegrass in Kentucky. Test 1, established 9/82, replicates 48 cultivars 3 times at a 1.5 inch mowing height. A table presents yearly (1983-1987) visual quality ratings on 1-9 scale and includes a 5 year average. 'Tara' and 'Gator' are the top rated varieties. Test 2, established 9/86, replicates 66 varieties 3 times and is maintained at a 1.5 inch mowing height. Monthly (March-September) visual quality ratings (1-9 scale) are presented in a table along with a 1987 average. Percent brown patch ratings (6/26/87) are also included. The top three varietes were 'Normarc 86', 'PST-259', and 'PST-2PM'. |
