Question: | "We understand there has been a recent recommendation for "pegging-up" on fairways. We are wondering if this is generally being considered by other clubs at this time of the year when there is very little grass growth." |
Answer/Response: | ""Pegging-up" on fairways is not a general practice except perhaps on newly sown fairways. Most clubs do introduce a local rule allowing placing on fairways during the winter period in order to preserve the turf, i.e. the player is allowed to lift his ball and place it within 6 in. of the original lie but no nearer the hole." |
