Question: | "The turf on our green is showing signs of drought because poor pressure prevents us giving sufficient water. Can you suggest any method of minimising drought damage?" |
Answer/Response: | "In a situation such as yours we suggest that the height of cut be raised to ¼ in. and maintained at this until growth is more vigorous. You will have to accept that this will give rise to slower running of the woods. In addition mulching with a light top dressing of compost (say 1 lb./sq. yd.) properly worked in would be helpful." |
