Question: | "Part of our fairways are stony and dry. Have you any objection to us using a mixture of grass and clover on these parts?" |
Answer/Response: | "Our objection to using clover in a fairway mixture is that it is unsightly, causing dark green patches which stand out conspicuously against the rest of the turf. Moreover the clover dies back in winter and if there is any appreciable amount of it in the sward, it leaves the turf relatively thin. We do not advise you to sow clover seed on your fairways." |
