Abstract/Contents: | Briefly discusses the occurence of the Geotrupes scarab on a golf course in West Virginia. States that "three beetles were in the aerifying holes, about 3" [inches] deep." Also states that "these [insects] are known to dig down to where there is buried dung or decaying plant material where they lay their eggs." Concludes that "the beetles are known from almost all the states but they seem to be most active in the southern and transition zones [of the United States]." |
