Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the Kentucky bluegrass breeding project conducted "to develop cultivars which are adapted to Nebraska and the Great Plains, are superior in overall performance, and have a lower consumptive energy requirement than commercially available cultivars." Describes plant collections made in the program and states that they were "evaluated, then hybridized with commercially available cultivars and with each other." States that "the number of hybrids showing potential [had] been reduced to the ten most promising." Concludes that "one hybrid NE 80-88 [was] considered for inclusion in the 1985 National Kentucky Bluegrass Evaluation." |
