Abstract/Contents: | Studies of Stripe smut on 'Merion' Kentucky bluegrass show an interaction between rate and ratio of fertilization and disease incidence. Heavily fertilized plots were more diseased than those receiving low fertilizer rates. Within each rate, however, grass receiving nitrogen alone was more heavily infected than grass treated with a more complete fertilization including phosphorus and/or potassium. Tables on 1) Stripe smut ratings on turf fertilized with various ratios and rates, and 2) percent diseased tillers on turf fertilized with various ratios and rates. |
