Abstract/Contents:	Presents a study conducted on lamont (rescuegrass) in Stoneville, Mississippi in November, 1951. States that "these plants were selected for desirable forage characteristics and resistance to the head smut fungus. Reports that "lamont was immune to fungus collections from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Texas, but was moderately susceptible to the collection from Louisiana." Concludes that lamont "appears better adapted to sandy loam soils rather than to heavy clay soils."
