Abstract/Contents: | Focuses on the effects of Turfmaster, Banvine, and Totril weedicides on young turf, suggesting that their effects "on mature turf is well known, [but] there is still some uncertainty...[as to] what weedicide should be used and at what rates they should be applied" to younger turf. Presents two tables that illustrate each weedicide's rate in liters per hectare, interval from sowing to spraying (in months), and number of days after spraying. Reports that "the rate of application used for both Turfmaster and Banvine had no effect on the degree of susceptibility of the fine turf." Concludes that "Totril at 1.5 litres/ha [liters per hectare] has no effect on browntop chewings fescue turf one month from sowing" and that "Turfmaster and Banvine causes [cause] considerable damage to fine turf when sprayed one month after sowing." |
