Abstract/Contents: | Addresses the possible usefulness of utilizing grass clippings for the nitrogen it contains. Explains that "this valuable nitrogen can be conserved by collecting the clippings and allowing them to rot in a pit," and provides additional information on how to maintain the clippings. Briefly discusses allowing grass clippings to fly on large fairways and the effect of drying grass. Recommends not stimulating the herbage "to produce abundant growth," adding that "the danger of this cannot be over-emphasised as forcing top-growth favours [favors] weed invasion." |
