Abstract/Contents: | Article discusses reducing the cost of turf upkeep through the use of native grasses. Discusses grating, soil amendation, variety selection, seeding, and overseeding. Reetablishment of native turf usually requires the reduction of competition by existing vegetation. In many cases, problems related to existing site and soil must be corrected before weed control, tillage and planting can occur. Sites impacted by building or other general construction are usually left with soils not acceptable for turf management. |
