Abstract/Contents: | Of 19 fertilizer treatments applied to lawn grass, consisting of a mixture of 2 Festuca rubra ssp., Poa pratensis and Agrostis tenuis, the best results were obtained with a standard dressing of ammonium sulphate + superphosphate and potassium sulphate. The grass became deep green immediately after the first application in the spring. With Park (14:6:4), the mineral mixture and a BASF-experimental fertilizer, the weed population decreased progressively during the season and by the end of the experiment (October) the plot treated with the mineral mixture was weed-free. The unfertilized control plot had a weed population of 5%-20% per unit area. The changes in the composition of the sward are tabulated. |
