Abstract/Contents: | Several different departments at William Rainey Harper College got together to develop a program that combines academics and practice for Parks and Grounds Management students. Through the joining of the academic faculty and physical plant staff the "Partnership in Education" program was established. The program has created an intership program in which local firms hire the college students and the Harper College hires graduating high school seniors to assist in campus grounds maintenance. This program is a big success because it has allowed the students to enhance their knowledge through hands-on experience and also enhanced the beauty of the campus. |
