Abstract/Contents:	Describes: The construction and establishment of turf in the Halle/Westphalen tennis court under the supervision of the headgreenkeeper of Wimbeldon, Jim Thorn. The exact composition of the soil layers is given, as are the irrigation and mowing frequencies as the site is prepared for its first tournament. Due to the short time between the construction and the actual tournament, it was decided to use sod in order to quickly establish a durable turf surface. A Festuca/Agrostis mixture was used, with an afterseeding (Nachsaat) of Lolium perenne.
