Abstract/Contents: | Discusses research done to develop turf cultivars that are genetically resistant to certain pests. The U.S. Department of Agriculture started a bermudagrass breeding program at the University of Georgia in 1996, which rated mole cricket activity in experimental bermudagrass hybrids. The cultivar Tift 94 was found to be the most resistant to mole crickets, and will be available to certified growers in 1997. |
