Abstract/Contents: | Answers the question about the latest preemergence control measures to prevent Poa annua in overseeded areas. Discusses how cultural practices such as aerating one month prior to overseeding, avoiding excessive moisture, nitrogen, and low pH levels can help prevent Poa annua. Describes how products that contain fenarimol, pronamide and oxadiazon can be used to control Poa annua growth. Also answers a question about whether a person shoule replant golf greens and if there are if there are any options any options on producing the putting characteristics of the the newer dwarf grasses. Discusses how to use cultural ways grasses. Discusses how to use cultural ways to improve the the putting green without reducing the mowing height. The options included are periodic double cutting, topdressing lightly, rolling the greens, using nitrogen, and keeping the greens dry. Chemicals may also be used. |
