Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the standardization of turf seeding practices and how seeding has evolved over time. Addresses concerns about the appropriate time to seed turfgrass and contrasts the benefits of seeding in different seasonal periods. States that "it has become increasingly apparent that much more emphasis needs to be given to the selection and testing of grasses for poor soils -- the goal being the identification of those grasses that will perform well on soils of poor physical conditions." Discusses the purpose of a starter fertilizer and how to effectively control weed competition. |
