| Abstract/Contents: | OBJECT: "To determine the performance of slow-release sources of nitrogen compared to soluble forms with a view to developing recommendations for use of slow-release nitrogen sources in management of sand greens. SUMMARY: "1) Ammonium sulfate and urea provided a uniform level of quality turf when applied at the rate of 0.5 kg N per 100 m2 every 4 weeks folloiwng the second application. 2) SCU and IBDU provided satisfactory turf quality when applied @ 1.0 kg N at 8 week intervals following the first interval. Likewise @ 1.33 kg N every 12 weeks following the first 12 week interval. 3) Nitorform on either schedule was unsatisfactory under the conditions of this experiment to date. 4) The performance of Scotts U.F. was similar to that of the soluble sources with only slight evidence of slow-release benefits to date." |
