| Abstract/Contents: | Reports on investigations into the effectiveness of slow release nitrogen sources which show that single applications of some materials can maintain acceptable turf for periods up to 9 months while soluble forms need to be applied frequently in small amounts to achieve comparable results. The present study compares the performance of 4 slow release forms of nitrogen: S.C.U. (31-0-0), I.B.D.U. (31-0-0), Nitrogorm U.F. (38-0-0), and Scotts Me.U. (41-0-0) with 2 soluble forms: ammonium sulfate (21-0-0) and urea (45-0-0) on a new creeping bentgrass green established on pure sand. |
