Abstract/Contents:Discusses testing of six different seed mixtures to determine their suitability for use in private lawns and public parks. Reports that in this second part of the study, sward density, regenerative ability, and sward composition for each seed mixture were evaluated over three years. In addition to standard visual evaluation, sward density and regenerative ability were evaluated using digital image analysis technology. States that "when considering all the special grass mixtures, the mixture Poa supina, which grows in shadow, has the highest sward density and the best regeneration potential. Together with the results of the first test series regarding the height of the grasses and the quantity of the [sward], Poa supina appears to be for the customer [...] the best utility grass." Concludes that "therefore, for the protection of the consumer, it is recommend[ed] to use ony special selected grass mixtures."
