Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the influence of state legislation on power equipment sales, particularly focusing on the issue of warranties. Equipment dealers fault manufacturing companies for "not paying full shop rates on reimbursement work, not paying retail on parts, not paying for diagnostic time, and not paying for costs associated with pickup and delivery." The manufacturers claim dealers "don't do proper diagnostics, put warranty work at the back of the line, and are inefficient." States that "while legislated solutions aren't ideal, they are the inevitable result of conflict and failure to reach middle-ground solutions." |
